One for the Cabinet of Curiosities, methinks, along with Nelson's glass eye. Cross-cultural interpretations of this sort can be quite entertaining, though. A friend of mine spent Christmas in Japan a couple of years ago and was bemused to see, among the tinsel decorations, an effigy of Father Christmas nailed to a cross.
