We had a day out in Tynemouth yesterday and 'sat in the shadow of Admiral Collingwood' - or at least the shadow of his memorial.

I've said elsewhere on this forum that Collingwood is a top Geordie and one of my favorites.
He well deserves this tribute - overlooking the mouth of the Tyne and out to sea.

Many thanks for posting that, MTS. We have a number of memorials to Nelson, but other memorials to other heroes of the Georgian navy are always welcome.
