I received the following query via the 'Nelson' email. Can anyone help?

Among the bits and pieces of various inheritances is a ring, which has always been referred to as "Nelson's ring". It is heavy old gold with a mounted crystal cut impression of what we have always supposed was the great man himself. I do recall the story that a number of these were made after his death. I also recall that one of my ancestors served with Nelson and that this is how we came to be in possession of it.
Do you know anything about these rings? Apparently the British Museum has a couple.
