Hope its not too late, to wish all a very billated Happy New Year!
New topic here:
Where was Nelson in 1779 when the Battle of Flamborough Head was taking place of the Yorkshire coast?
How much would he have known about John Paul Jones the Scottish born Captain of the American fleet on that day?

Nelson was in "the Americas" i.e. Caribbean and Central America between 1777 and the end of 1780. If he heard about the Battle of Flamborough Head it would have been much later.
