Sad that the settles and all the fixtures and fittings have been removed from The Lord Nelson at Burnham Thorpe

Sad indeed. I wonder what happened there. I've had excellent meals there and the place was usually very well-patronised. The small collection of Nelson memorabilia was well-judged too. No Nelson t-shirts or baseball caps.

Latest news... although almost all the memorabilia appears to have been stripped by the leaseholders as they left, the settles and benches appear to have been left but some are badly damaged. All very, very sad. Borough Council appear to be investigating whether this is 'criminal damage'. Even things like radiators have been taken, presumably for their scrap-metal value. It's probably going to be months before it can reopen.
