It is always amusing to see old news about Nelson appearing in the press as revelatory.

The Times reports this morning that a letter to Emma, written by Nelson, held in a private collection, is to be sold,

What has 'emerged' is Nelson's anger at Troubridge for 'lording it' over him after his promotion and was deliberately keeping him at sea, away from Emma. It is also reported that he recalls that it was he who saved Troubridge from humiliation by ensuring he got his Nile medal even though he ran aground aground before the battle. But we knew all this, didn't we?

The letter will be auctioned at Marbella in Spain, tomorrow, 3 June. It is estimated to make £15.000. Is Nelson that popular in Spain - among ex-pats, perhaps?
