The quill pen with which Nelson wrote his last letter to Emma before Trafalgar is to be sold by Christie's.

The estimate, as is often the case, seems rather low.

I see the pen is being sold in Christies " Valuable Books and Manuscripts " sale lot 239.

Perhaps the National Maritime Museum will be looking to bid and hope to reunite it with it's original box and the letter. Would be nice to see it all displayed together.

If the NMM or another maritime museum have acquired it, they will no doubt announce it in due course. If it's gone to a private collector then I guess they wouldn't want to make it public for security reasons.
