After the recent sale of a lock of Lady Hamilton's hair at the Charles Miller Ltd auction, three locks of Lord Nelson's hair are to be sold at an upcoming auction at Keys Auctioneers, Aylsham, Norfolk.

The online catalogue description Lot 59 reads as follows:

' Two paper packets purporting to contain Nelson's hair, the first containing two small lengths, inscribed to the packet outside in ink "The hair of Horatio Lord Nelson, given me by Horatia, 22 May 1818", the second, a plaited length of hair within a postal packet addressed to "Ship Bolton, Burnham, Norfolk", bearing the post mark of Wymondham, Oct 18 1841, the packet is inscribed on the outside in ink "The great Lord Nelson hair cut off when he left off tying his hair". Provenance: Bonhams Marine Sale 26/09/2012, part lot 19. At this sale Bonhams gave the provenance as follows: "By family descent from Susannah, sister of Horatio Nelson (m. Thomas Bolton)'

The Guide price is £2000 - £3000

Lot 59 is part of a large memorabilia collection of some 100+ lots relating to Nelson and the Royal Navy and takes place as a two day sale on 29th-30th July. Happy Bidding !
