Interesting news of work on the conservation of HMS Victory:

I believe we have Lady Hardy to thank that Victory was preserved for posterity. The ship was destined for the breaker's yard and Hardy - unsentimental and tough as teak - prepared to sign the order when Lady Hardy expressed astonishment and Hardy stayed his hand.
