Thank you for posting the link, Sylvia.

Did you notice the smaller picture below the larger one of Nelson's direct descendant, Anna Tribe? The resemblance between them, particularly the eyes and nose, is quite remarkable, I think.

My favourite sculpture of Nelson is the one outside the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich. I came upon this by chance one day when I got lost. There wasn't a soul about and the rain was coming down in torrents. It's a very vigorous sculpture, a full figure, not a bust, and gives a powerful sense of authority combined with kindliness.

I think you mean this one. You are right it is a lovely statue of Nelson. He has a stern expression in his face though.

Hello Tycho, Sylvia,

I think the statue outside the Trafalgar Tavern was posted on the old Nelson site and indeed think it a good likeness. I'm not so sure that he looks stern, but rather that he has a thoughtful expression and has a lot on his mind - as of course he did. I think it's one of the best statues I've seen.
