Hi All,
Recently discovered family history on a relative Josiah Dornford who in the 1851 Census shows him as a Lieutenant at the Royal Hospital, Greenwich.
I have now discovered that he died in 1855 aged 71 and was buried at the Royal Naval Hospital Old Burial Ground. A memorial to him sadly lost during WW11 is recorded.
Would be very interested to know some history on the cemetery and to learn of any photographs that maybe known before its clearance.
Also would be interested to know if any family members,ie wives would have had the right of internment also.
Cheers :)
