Please post details of any forthcoming (or upcoming as the modern trend has it) events with a Nelsonian connection that you think might interest forum members.

Below are details of a reading to be given by Colin White in June. It will be held in the grounds of Gilbert White's beautiful 18th century house at Selbourne in Hampshire. Gilbert White was the famous parson/naturalist who wrote 'The Natural History of Selbourne.' Read more about the location at www.gilbertwhitehouse.org.uk/events.php

He also tells the story of the remarkable 5 year research project which unearthed the new material.

Post subject:  Caird Library Archive Journeys

This is rather short notice, I'm afraid, but if anyone is near Greenwich on 24 July 2008 there is a free lecture, at 2.30 pm at the Caird Library, NMM. It is on Nelson's Women, one of a series of 'archive journeys'. It will be illustrated with original manuscripts, rare books and objects and is a splendid opportunity to become familiar with some of interesting items from the museum's collections.
