An interesting lot is included in Charles Miller's auction taking place Wednesday 25th April:

There are several Nelson related lots, my interest was taken by lot 156: (large detail available by clicking on the catalogue image)

The catalogue description states that it believes the carving is a section of tafferel (taffarel?) taken from either the 5th rate Horatio(1807), or the 1st rate Nelson (1814). It concludes the Nelson the more likely recipient. Does anyone have details of either ship that could confirm this?

Richard.
