Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow

As part of their two-day auction of autograph letters and historical documents, IAA Ltd. are
delighted to be able to announce the sale of the F. Roy Deeley Collection of Nelson & His
Contemporaries.

Formed over many years of dedicated collecting by the late Roy Deeley, a previous director
of the Universal Autograph Collectors Club and well respected figure amongst autograph
collectors, the collection includes a fascinating selection of original autograph letters and
historical documents, as well as various artefacts and souvenirs relating to Nelson, HMS
Victory and the Battle of Trafalgar.

Highlights of the 76 lots on offer include –

. An Order of Battle and of Sailing signed by Nelson, 10th June 1804
. A book bearing the ownership signatures of both Emma Hamilton and Horatia
Nelson
. Rare documents individually signed by Frances Nelson, Emma Hamilton and
Horatia Nelson
. Ticket of admission to the funeral of Nelson, and one of his visiting cards
. Various letters by Naval Captains who fought at the Battle of Trafalgar including
Hardy, Pasco, Blackwood, Fremantle, Codrington, Collingwood and others

Roy Deeley, a past member of The Nelson Society and The 1805 Club, proudly displayed
many of the items from his collection at an exhibition at Guildford Museum in October 2005
to commemorate the Bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar.

A fully illustrated, printed copy of the catalogue is available by request, and it is also
available to view online at http://www.autographauctions.co.uk

Commission, telephone and room bidding are all available, and it is also possible to bid live
via the internet during the auction – further details are available on the auctioneer’s website
