It was very sad to hear that Anne Yannoulis died on Saturday, 10th August, on the island of Aegina where she lived. Her funeral was held yesterday. Under her name Anne Petrides, she published Sea Soldier. An Officer of Marines with Duncan, Nelson, Collingwood and Cockburn. The Letters and Journals of Major T Marmaduke Wybourn RM, 1797-1813 (published in 2000 by Parapress). Roy and I never met Anne, but had correspondence with her for many years, and she very kindly gave us permission to quote from these diaries in our book The War for All the Oceans. She was a descendant of Wybourn, and the frontispiece of her book shows that she herself (amongst many other things) worked at 'Station X' in Bletchley Park during WW2. We are told that there will be a memorial service in October.
