Hello, for anyone living in the Plymouth (Devon) area, then please note the talk that Roy and I will be giving on St George's Day:

'Tars & Tarts: Life in Nelson's Navy', to be held in the library at IVYBRIDGE, near Plymouth, arranged by Ivybridge Library Friends. The library is in a new building called The Watermark and is half a mile from the railway station (address: The Watermark, Erme Court, Leonards Road, Ivybridge, PL21 0SZ), with a car park adjacent. The event will be from 8pm to 9.30pm, on Thursday 23rd April 2009! There will be a small charge of £3, to include refreshments. Tickets are on sale from Ivybridge Library, contact phone number 01752 893140.

We usually call our talks simply Jack Tar, but the Friends wanted something a little catchier for this event! Perhaps we should encourage everyone to dress up in suitable costume...

Alas, the library has had to cancel this event. Our next talk is not so far away, at the Dartington Ways with Words festival at 2pm on Wednesday 15th July. Dartington is a lovely location, much recommended.
