The eveing starts at 18.30 in the Queen Mary Undercroft with a glass of prosecco. The three course dinner includes the chocolate Ships-of-The Line. Entetainment will be provided by a brass ensemble and Shep Valley performing rousing sea shanties and an opportunity for guests to sing along. Once again a splendid night at the Painted Hall. If any of you were present I wore a 'peacock' dress. The programme was changed slightly with no parade of the beef but I am confident this will be back next year. Our rum raisin mousse was served in dishes and not from the ships-of-the-line but they contained truffles and ,of course, you can eat the ships. The singing of sea shanties were led by Shep Wooley and band and got a few feet tapping. Some got up and did quick jigs. Andrew Lambert was guest speaker and also proposed the toast to 'The immortal Memory' The singing of Rule Britannia always gets most going. As I mentioned to someone it is on of the rare ocassions where one can feel proud to be British and not be afraid to show it. Thanks Nelson.

Thanks for the report, Tina.

I keep promising myself I'll make it. Perhaps next year?
