Try and get to the museum this weekend, and read the info, could be part of Nelson's service or it might be commemorative.
I might have thought it was part of the Baltic Service, because the display is near the Bowl given to Danish captains who took part in the battle, so i shall have to trudge down to the museum (oh the pain of doing so :) ) and have a good perusal.

Went to the museum today and the plate and bowl are
Quote:
Part of a Pottery Service by Sampson of Paris c.1801/2, featuring Nelson's coat of arms.
It is believed that this dinner service was produced for Nelson and used by him and Emma at the house they shared in Merton, Surrey.
Note that the makers got the date of the Battle of Copehagen wrong !

Sorry if the pic is not very clear.

Hmm, very interesting, Post Captain - I think the RNM have a bit of a problem in their description! Sampson's (or Samson) of Paris was not founded until 1845, and its founder was not even born until 1810! (The NMM identify Sampson as the maker of some of the copies.)

Looks like someone at the museum will have egg and face in alignment.

How charitable - that sounds a lot less painful than the Forum Frying Pan! - and they can save some money on their insurance premiums, too...

For sale on eBay: 19thC Samson Copy Of Nelson Oakleaf Tea Service Urn, complete with 22 April date. Much of the paint has washed/worn off, but there is a pair available (and a pair of vases).

Take a look at the sellers other items - there are some amazing (and expensive) things. The shop is based in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. How about the model of Lord Nelson, in 9 foot high glass case!
