Knowing that there were many Maltese sailors in Nelson's Navy I am interested to know how their recruitment was undertaken in foreign ports ? Knowing that there were a number on board HMS Victory at Trafalgar I wonder if anyone can forward me any names. I think there was certainly four or five.

Greetings from what is a 40 degree heat here today.

From the Ayshford Trafalgar Roll for HMS Victory:

Ordinary Seamen:
    John Tart
    Nathaniel/Nicholas Perch
    Joseph Benjua
    Emanuel Cornelene
    Emanuel Camelaire

Marine Privates:
    Gaetano Altomaro
    Domque Gentile

At the battle, there were a total of 33 men in the fleet listed as from Malta
