It does make you realise that there is no comprehensive book available about the Marines during the Nelson era. Assuming there is not one out there that I missed. That sounds like a book waiting to be written??!!
Hi,
I have been told that James Kochan is writing a book on the Royal Marines during the Napoleonic Wars. He has written an Osprey book on the US Army during the period 1812-1815. The artist Don Troiani has already prepared some artwork for the book.
He has some involvement with the re-enactment community in the US. When he is not emulating a Royal Navy officer, he is running a militaria business which sells replica items to re-enactors.
This would certainly make for an interesting read!
