Nelson & His World

hi, im new to the forum ,but im trying to compile a library of books and dvd,videos ,books i have no problem locating through amazon etc,but although i have several dvds ,im trying to locate the mini series done on channel 4 commemerating the 200 years ,one part as i recall was the view from beatty the surgeon ,as i remember it was a different every evening ,basically does anyone have or know where i can get any material on my hero Nelson ,thanks in advance ,Paul

I don't recall a mini-series but I know the specific programme you are referring to. Roger Daltrey, the singer had a part in it.

It looks as if you can order it from this website but I cannot guarantee the site or that they still have copies available.

Alternatively put a saved search into eBay. Copies doubtless come up on there from time to time.

thank you very much ,they have it,i did email channel 4 ,but sadley they were not very helpful at all,any other nelson dvd or dramatisations please tell me ,im searching fair and wide and getting more all the time but every little helps ,thanks again paul

Did you look in the "shop" at the National Maritime Museum?

The link below should take you to the DVD's and there are 3 Nelson-related ones there.

You will see that the first one was a 3-part T.V. series.

Maybe there is something there of interest.

I may find you one or two more. But you will understand that they may have mainly the same content.

I'd like to buy a copy of this DVD too, now that I've watched the trailer! It was very good as far as it went, and really created an atmosphere. It has had good reviews, 7.1 I think on IMDB. It seems strange that if does not appear that easy to get hold of! I remember there was an article about the making of it in the Nelson Dispatch.

also check out bloody foriegners ,the one expisode is about foriegn nationals in the navy its on the same website as battle surgeon ,vaguley remember it from when it was first on ,
