Agreed! I think this is perhaps the definitive biography, and can't wait for Volume II. Sugden's work eclipses even Roger Knight's monumental, scholarly work. I was amazed at the new material he had found, and the skilful way in which he included all sorts of digressions about the Georgian navy without ever losing the narrative thrust.
