Was there a Captain R. Crozier who was a contemporary of Nelson, but probably a much younger one, and who lived well into the Victorian era?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Tycho!

There are no Croziers in James' 'Naval History' (1793-1827)' nor in the 1823 Navy List. One Richard Crozier however has a potted CV's in O'Byrne's 'Biographical Dictionary' of 1849. He joined as a 1st Class Volunteer in 1810 and had an active career in the West Indies and North America during the war, and in the Lisbon Station, the Mediterranean and the Pacific thereafter, being promoted to captain in 1839.

Many thanks, Brian, for the information - though it is a little disappointing.

See the 'Poetry: you have been warned' thread.
