Yinka Shonibare is one of the next two artists to have been awarded a commission for the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square with "Nelson’s Ship in a Bottle".

Antony Gormley's "One & Other" is the other, so if you want to have your hour on the fourth plinth, you can register your interest

Tony,

Personally, I'd go for Yinka Shonibare's replica of the Victory with its brightly coloured sails. Not only does it fit in with the original concept for the Square and Nelson's Column, but I like his reasoning behind it. I think with the other idea you'd probably end up with a lot of exhibitionists - and I'm definitely not one of those!

My only worry would be as to how long the glass bottle would last - without someone lobbing a brick through it!
