Nelson & His World

The Caird Petition is now closed, having achieved the required number of signatures for further note to be taken of its content. The thread will now revert to a 'normal' one.

In the meantime, I think Nelson's World can take credit for bringing the closure to wider public attention and engaging the academic world in concerted action. Justin and Tony in particular deserve our heartfelt thanks for their bulldog-like tenacity, sharp analysis and unfailing commitment to pursuing the interests of researchers, and defending true scholarship. This has resulted in considerable improvements to the availability of research material compared with what was originally planned during the building of the Sammy Ofer Wing. Very well done! Gaudeamus igitur!

Nelson's World can indeed take credit, but I think Justin and Tony should also receive some recognition for their efforts from the wider community.
