A number of you will know of the company Gale/Cengage who were responsible for the digitalization of the Times newspapers from 1785-1985.
I have just been reading about another amazing project that they are undertaking.
It is called
Eighteenth Century Collections Online and they describe it as:

the single most ambitious digitization project ever undertaken.
Phew!
In a nutshell it will be a searchable database containing
every significant English-language and foreign-language title printed in Great Britain during the eighteenth century, (along with thousands of important works from the Americas.)
And that means
26 million pages of text from more than 136,000 titles.
Doubtless it will only be available through major libraries who will have to pay a hefty fee for the privilege.
But I am positively salivating at the thought.
