Hi All,

Slightly before Nelson, but does anyone have any information on a HMS Prnicess Royal around 1748.

Princess Royal - built as the 'Ossory' at Deptford, being launched 21 July 1711; re-named 'Princess' in January 1716 and re-named 'Princess Royal' in July 1728.

A 90 gun second rate, built to the 1706 establishment; measured 162.7ft x 47.4ft 1570 tons.

She was laid up in ordinary from launch until commissioned in July 1742 under Captain Christopher O'Brien, later Captain John St. Lo. Served Channel Fleet. In 1755 under Captain Richard Collins, guardship at the Nore; 1756 Capt. Edward Barber; 1758 Capt John Falkingham. Paid off and broken up at Chatham in 1763
