I see newspaper reports this morning mentioning that HMS Victory is to be moved to a dry dock in Chatham with plans for a Maritime center to be based there.

Very strange, but there seems to be a big question mark on how to move her. The favoured option is that she should actually be sailed there! It's reckoned they can actually raise the £1 million needed to prepare her for sea by auctioning tickets for the voyage to the general public. I will definitely be putting in a bid!

If I am not mistaken I think there is the possibilty of the Mary Rose being installed in the dry dock instead, due to the Tudor vessel being sunk off Portsmouth and its connections with the city.

Well, you shouldn't disbelieve everything you hear! This morning the Falmouth Coastguard picked up a distress call from the Titanic, which was sinking. According the the BBC this was not an April Fool, but the yacht MV Titanic in real trouble in the Carribean.

I can't imagine anybody wanting to call their yacht Titanic - obviously, whoever it was, isn't superstitious!

Of course, if the yacht had been in difficulties in the North Atlantic...
