Further to Anna's post re the height of Nelson's column.

On 3rd November Bonhams will be selling Railton's original model of the column.

Never a dull moment is there!! :)

Well, it's a bit big for our dining room table, so I think I'l have to pass on this one.

But I do think the design in the model with the steps at the base does look much better than the column as built.

And perhaps we should start a new public subscription to add back the missing 30 feet?
