Nelson & His World

Looking on eBay I found this figure of Nelson, which I don't think is Nelson at all. It made me smile. Still, I don’t know why, I like it. He looks a bit like a ballet dancer to me.

I know Nelson went to several balls in his naval carrier. But I cannot recall any description if he were/was a good dancer or not.

I hardly think this is Lord Nelson, but is actually listed by Dux Porcelain (I was that interested that I actually looked up their website!) as a Gentleman Rococco Figurine. (He actually comes in a variety of colours, the one I found was in a delicate shade of red, but unfortunately I couldn't get the link to work.) However, such is the power of Nelson's name!

Not having any real knowledge about it, I would hazard a guess and say that dancing was not one of Nelson's accomplishments, probably much to Emma's chagrin. I imagine he would have been 'all at sea', in more ways than one! Or am I wrong?
