Anyone who was alive and kicking in the early 60's will remember the hundreds and hundreds of aspiring pop groups there were at the time - and the wacky names and gimmicks that some of them came up with.
Well earlier this week I saw an advert for a Birmingham night club from 1964 - and the entertainment that night was
Cliff Nelson and the Trafalgers. (yes, spelt exactly like that!)
Reminds me somewhat of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates - who of course all dressed up in pirate outfits.
I wonder if CN and the T's wore period costumes plus the obligatory eye patches!

I can only assume they came and went fairly quickly.
Such a shame that they didn't end up head to head with the Beatles - with Number 1 records across the globe.MB
