A little snippet here from a dealer who was an underbidder (dropped out at £300,000) for the Spartiate flag, and subsequently sold a fragment of Victory's ensign. Scribble down your estimate on a piece of paper before you read what he sold it for.

You had better contact the Government, who were to see that it was to stay in Britain, at the time of the auction Anna.
