Anyone trying to get their head around the National Archives web site with their research, I can recommend the on-line course run by http://www.pharostutors.com run by Guy Grannum. This is of immense help for those unable to visit Kew given its distance and is a very enjoyable course.

I found a researcher who will read and copy any materials at Kew for £25 per hour, which I think is very reasonable.
When I think of the cost and time involved in doing it oneself, let alone getting there, I think it's a bargain.
The copying is included in the price. In two hours she copied about 250 pages and uploaded them to a BT website where I could download them, and also produced a report of what she did. You can also pay by PayPal.
I have no connection with this person but I thoroughly recommend the service.
Anyone who would like to use this service can email Bob O'Hara.

Best wishes,
